Scope of the role

Own setup and safe operation of multiple fabrication assets to produce quality parts at rate. You’ll apply prints and routings, verify quality at the first piece and hourly, and keep rigorous records.

Equipment you’ll operate

• Stamping Presses and Perforating Presses
• Expanders and Cut-to-Length (CTL) lines
• Lasers and Turret Presses
• Tube Forming Equipment
• TIG Welders

Your responsibilities

• Set up and run machines using the safest methods available.
• Interpret drawings/routings to determine material size, material type, and required quantities.
• Fine-tune setups to sustain consistent, in-spec production.
• Detect and address defects originating from previous operations (burrs, missing holes, cracks, etc.).
• Complete and attach move tickets to the corresponding loads.
• Accurately report labor hours and production quantities in the required system.
• Move materials safely using carts, hand trucks, or forklifts as necessary.
• Conduct first-piece and hourly inspections; track material using appropriate gauges and metrology tools.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and all health/safety requirements.
• Train fellow employees when needed.
• Maintain housekeeping standards—manage scrap, debris, and spills.
• Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Department Assistant.

Must-haves

• 2+ years in machine operation/setup or similar mechanical role within manufacturing; strong mechanical aptitude.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality procedures.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles (preferred).
• Knowledge of department procedures and related system transactions.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions.
• Understanding of company policies, shop rules, and safety practices.
• Competence in the care and use of inspection devices/tools.
• Solid shop math proficiency and exceptional attention to detail.
• Self-driven, energetic, collaborative; comfortable working independently or on a team.
• Ability to repetitively bend and kneel and to lift up to 50 lbs as required.
