Job Summary for Critical Care Respiratory Therapist


- Certifications/License Required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT, and Wisconsin RT license (can take 6-8 weeks to obtain)
- Coverage Areas: Critical Care and Med/Surg
- Experience Required:
- Minimum of 2 years RT experience
- Experience in trauma level 2 or 3 setting
- Critical care experience required
- First-time travelers and travel duos accepted
- Primary Duties:
- Perform ABGs and CBGs in intensive care units
- Overnight coverage for EKG department as needed
- Assist with intubation; may place laryngeal (King) airway during code blue situations
- Supervision/Support:
- Neonatologists and hospitalists in-house 24/7
- RT system director, manager, supervisor, and lead RT assigned per shift
- Shifts & Scheduling:
- Three 12-hour shifts per week (Day: 0630-1900, Night: 1830-0700)
- Schedule completed every 6 weeks; block scheduling when possible
- Every 3rd weekend and every other holiday required
- Call Requirements:
- No regular call; occasional off-shift call (1900-0400) on a volunteer basis
- 1-hour call response time
- Floating Requirements: None
- Dress Code: Any color scrubs; supportive footwear recommended
- Equipment Used:
- Ventilators: Servo U, Servo I, PB840 (transitioning to Servo U), Hamilton T1
- Bipap/CPAP: V-60, V-30, Resmeds
- High flow: Vapotherm
- Other: INOmax Plus, Oscillators, Cough Assist, Volara
- Orientation: Express orientation with leadership plus 3-4 days on floor
- Additional Information:
- Must note if previously employed by Marshfield (must have 6-month gap)
- Must clock in and out at facility
- Local rate applies for candidates within 80 miles (reduced by $8.00/hour)
