About the Role
Our client, a leading national retailer with one of the largest and most sophisticated supply chain networks in North America, is undertaking a major technology modernization initiative within their Global Supply Chain & Logistics (GSCL) organization. We are partnering with them to identify a Senior Program Manager who can drive cross-team coordination, dependency tracking, and the activation and decommission program supporting this transformation.
This is a remote-eligible contract opportunity ideal for a seasoned program leader with a strong background in large-scale enterprise technology programs, legacy system retirement, and supply chain or merchandising platforms. Job Description
As the Program Manager, you will own the end-to-end program plan for the activation and decommission of key GSCL systems. You will track cross-team dependencies, align timelines, and facilitate discussions to resolve emergent issues across engineering, product, infrastructure, security, and business partner teams. Your work will directly support full activation by Q1 2027 and legacy component decommissioning by Q2 2027.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Build and maintain the overall program plan, including milestones, dependencies, activation timelines, and decommission timelines.
  • Track cross-team dependencies and ensure teams are aligned on sequencing, ownership, and delivery expectations.
  • Facilitate discussions to resolve risks, blockers, timeline conflicts, and emergent issues.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure delivery plans support overall program goals and business outcomes.
  • Create and maintain program documentation, including status updates, dependency trackers, risk logs, decision logs, and leadership readouts.
  • Coordinate across teams to ensure activation readiness, operational readiness, and decommission readiness.
  • Drive visibility into program health, timeline risks, decision needs, and execution progress.
  • Support planning and execution toward full activation by Q1 2027 and legacy component decommissioning by Q2 2027.
  • Follow established program management, agile delivery, and documentation practices.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Senior-level experience in program management, project management, or technical delivery management for large-scale technology programs.
  • Experience managing cross-team dependencies, timelines, risks, and delivery plans across multiple engineering, product, and partner teams.
  • Ability to create, manage, and drive an activation and decommission plan for complex enterprise systems.
  • Experience facilitating program discussions, aligning stakeholders, and driving decisions across teams with competing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of technology modernization programs, including legacy system retirement, phased activation, and dependency management.
  • Ability to track and communicate program status, milestones, risks, blockers, and key decisions clearly and consistently.
  • Strong risk management skills, with the ability to identify, assess, escalate, and drive mitigation plans for program risks.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, timelines, and deliverables in parallel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level updates, team-level coordination, and clear documentation.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence without authority and keep teams aligned toward shared outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and address emergent issues effectively.
  • Ability to work closely and collaborate effectively with GSCL, engineering, product, infrastructure, security, and other partner teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with supply chain and/or merchandising systems.
  • Experience managing mainframe modernization or legacy platform decommissioning programs.
  • Experience working in an agile delivery environment with engineering teams, product teams, and technical stakeholders.
